It is the diversity of our award-winning wineries that makes touring the Grampians wine region so appealing.
From the quirky to traditional, each cellar door offers a unique experience – from classic wine tastings and sales, to cheese platters, great coffee and local produce. Chat with knowledgeable staff about the wines – they’ll be pleased to share their passion!
Each winery has its own stunning perspective of the Grampians and natural surrounds and, while driving through the hills and valleys, you’ll see a mix of ancient and recently established vineyards where the process all begins.
The long history of wine-making in the region is impressive, and history buffs can’t go past ‘The Drives’ tour at Seppelt in Great Western. Excavated in the 1800's from de-composed granite, this three kilometre underground labyrinth of tunnels houses an impressive collection of wines.
And getting around the region is easy; you can join a tour or self-drive. For more information contact the Halls Gap Visitor Information Centre on 1800 065 599 (www.grampianstravel.com), or Stawell Visitor Information Centre 1800 330 080.
