grampians wine
Located against the backdrop of the spectacular Grampians National Park is one of Australia’s most historical and acclaimed wine regions, which has flourished since the 1850s.
The proximity of the Grampians to the wineries around the townships of Great Western, Ararat, Buangor, Moyston and Halls Gap contribute to cool climate viticulture that results in wines of intense varietal character. Shiraz is the region’s signature variety displaying dense ruby colours with attractive pepper spice and plum characters.
The Region also produces crisp, delicious Riesling and flavoursome Chardonnay, along with the famous Sparkling wines produced in the traditional French and German styles. Pinot Gris, Sauvignon Blanc, Cabernet, Merlot and Pinot Noir are also in abundance and showcase the regions diversity of wine style. The individual character of these fine wines is available for sampling and sales at any of the cellar doors. Your first choice will be to either self-drive or take a guided tour.
